Graduation is a meaningful milestone and a great opportunity to bring family, friends, and colleagues together to celebrate the person who earned it. For groups looking for a hands-on way to celebrate, a Turkish mosaic workshop gives every guest a creative activity to enjoy and a personal mosaic project to take home.
Sessions are held at Homewood Suites by Hilton Atlanta/Perimeter Center in Atlanta's Perimeter Center area, near Sandy Springs and Dunwoody. During an approximately 2.5-hour session, every guest chooses from five mosaic art projects β four lamp styles and a candle holder β and works with colorful glass tiles and beads to create their own mosaic design. An experienced instructor guides each creative phase, and no prior art or crafting experience is required.
Β
Why a Mosaic Workshop Works for a Graduation Party
Every guest creates something personal. Each person selects their own project and makes their own design choices β tile arrangement, color combinations, bead selection, and pattern. Every guest leaves with a tiled mosaic project they personally created, giving the group a shared creative experience and a lasting reminder of the occasion.
The workshop encourages conversation and creativity. Tables are prepared before guests arrive with the materials needed for the workshop. One serving of fresh baklava and one cup of traditional Turkish coffee are included for every guest. Every workshop includes a live music performance while guests continue working on their mosaic projects.
No prior experience is required. The workshop is designed to be approachable for guests with different levels of creative background, including those trying a craft activity for the first time. The experienced instructor demonstrates each step clearly, making the process approachable for guests with different levels of experience.
A private booking can provide a dedicated workshop setting for the graduation group, with an experienced instructor dedicated to the group and additional scheduling flexibility depending on availability and event needs. Most private bookings are between 10 and 20 guests, although smaller and larger groups may also be accommodated.

How the Workshop Session Runs
Phase 1 β Tile Placement
Each guest selects a lamp style or candle holder and begins arranging colorful glass tiles onto the glass surface. Pattern guides are provided at each seat for guests who would like inspiration or a starting point, or they can create their own arrangement.
One serving of fresh baklava and one cup of traditional Turkish coffee are served as the group settles in. Every workshop includes a live music performance while guests continue working on their mosaic projects.
Phase 2 β Bead Placement
Once the tile design is in place, the experienced instructor demonstrates how to place colorful beads between the tiles to add depth and texture to the design. Each project develops its own look based on the colors, patterns, and bead combinations selected by each guest.
Wrap-Up β Grout Instructions
Because the mosaic glue needs approximately 10 to 12 hours to dry fully, the final grouting step is completed at home rather than during the workshop. Before the session ends, the experienced instructor demonstrates the grouting process, answers questions, and provides each guest with a grout packet and printed take-home instructions.
