Corporate Team Building in Atlanta: A Turkish Mosaic Lamp Workshop

Corporate Team Building in Atlanta: A Turkish Mosaic Lamp Workshop

Most corporate team-building activities fall into the same two categories: competitive events where half the team disengages, or passive social gatherings where people default to the same conversations they have at every company lunch. Neither tends to create the kind of shared experience that actually changes how a team feels about one another.

A Turkish mosaic lamp workshop is something different. In a fully guided 2.5-hour session, every person on the team creates their own handmade Turkish mosaic project β€” choosing from four lamp styles and a candle holder option. No prior experience is required. The workshop is led step by step by an instructor, making it accessible and genuinely enjoyable for everyone regardless of creative background.

Β

Why a Mosaic Lamp Workshop Works for Corporate Team Building

Everyone participates on equal footing. There is no competitive element, no performance pressure, and no advantage based on seniority or skill. Everyone follows the same guided process β€” selecting their tile arrangement, placing glass tiles, adding beads β€” and ends up with something entirely their own. That shared, non-hierarchical dynamic tends to open up conversation in ways that conference room activities simply do not.

The setting changes the dynamic. Sessions take place in a dedicated workshop space β€” tables set up before the group arrives, display lamps glowing around the room, working trays laid out and ready. Complimentary Turkish coffee is served in traditional porcelain cups alongside fresh baklava during the session. Guests enjoy live music during part of the workshop while working on their mosaic projects. It is a considered, welcoming environment β€” nothing like an office, and nothing like a typical event venue.

Every team member takes home something they personally made. By the end of the session, each person has their own tiled glass mosaic project to take home and finish the following day. It is a tangible result from a shared afternoon β€” more meaningful than a branded tote bag or a team photo, and something people genuinely keep.

Private bookings give the team exclusive use of the space. A private corporate session means the group has the full workshop space and a dedicated instructor, scheduled around your team's calendar. It creates a more focused, personal experience β€” without coordinating around other guests or a fixed public schedule.

How the Workshop Session Runs

Phase 1 – Tile Placement

Each team member selects their project β€” a lamp style or candle holder β€” and begins arranging colorful glass tiles onto the glass surface. Pattern guides are available, but going completely freestyle is equally welcome. Complimentary Turkish coffee and fresh baklava are served as everyone settles in. Guests enjoy live music during this creative phase while working on their mosaic projects.

Phase 2 – Bead Placement

Once the tile design is in place, the instructor demonstrates the next step: positioning colorful beads between the tiles to add depth and texture. Live music is featured during part of this phase while guests continue working on their mosaic projects. No two projects turn out the same β€” each piece reflects the choices made by the person who built it.

Wrap-Up – Grout Instructions

Because the mosaic adhesive needs 10 to 12 hours to cure fully, the final grouting step is completed at home rather than during the workshop. Before the session ends, the instructor demonstrates the entire process, answers any questions, and provides each team member with a grout packet and printed take-home instructions.

Private Corporate Booking or Public Session?

For most corporate groups, a private workshop booking is the better fit. It gives the team exclusive use of the workshop space, a session scheduled around your calendar, and a dedicated instructor throughout the workshop β€” without other guests present.

Smaller groups are also welcome to book individual spots at a public weekend session. Public sessions run primarily on Saturdays, with two time slots: 11:00 AM–1:30 PM and 2:30 PM–5:00 PM.
